About us

ETB Catalytic Technologies is an innovative company that has developed a unique single-stage process for producing butadiene from ethanol using a polyfunctional catalyst. High selectivity and conversion rate of our process substantially improve product yield per tonne of feedstock, while low process temperature leads to lower energy costs. Our process makes it possible to produce monomers that are essential for manufacturing of polymer materials considered indispensible in many industries, ranging from toy manufacturing to medical and automotive industries.

For several years our team of experts from Kinetics and Catalysis Laboratory at Lomonosov Moscow State University Faculty of Chemistry and from UNICIT LLC has been conducting lab tests in the field of alternative ethanol to butadiene synthesis. Having successfully tested its developments in laboratory conditions, our team was able to raise funds from ZAVKOM industrial group and to win a grant offered by Skolkovo Innovation Center. The funds that we were able to raise are used to design and build a pilot plant with 2MT capacity, and to conduct further research and keep on developing the technology. We hold relevant patents in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, US, Canada, Mexico, and the Republic of South Africa.

Russia’s ETB Catalytic Technologies (ETB CaT, Moscow; www.etbcat.com) has been granted funding of USD 600,000 to build a pilot plant for producing 1,3-butadiene from renewable feedstock. The investors, leading Russian engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company Zavkom and non-profit organisation the Skolkovo Foundation received 22% of ETB CaT.
